I was born and raised across Europe in an Airforce family. My mother had bred Vizslas since 1970, and I was raised by Katie and Tate, two old but humorous home-bred Vizslas. In 1989, my family moved from Belgium to Belleville, IL. My mother then got my sister and I involved in showing the Vizslas.

Our first Vizsla when we returned to the states was a dog, Ch. Szizlin Bzer (“Bentley”), who I won the breed with at Westminster in 1994 and was campaigned by my mother and Mr. Bill Busch. We had also acquired a bitch, Ch. Dirigo Gambler’s Windfall (“Windy”), with whom I won BOW at the 1991 Nationals. Bentley produced a bitch, Ch. Pirok Mia, with whom both my sister and I won All-Breed Best in Shows.

Throughout this time, I also became involved with Weimaraners, co-owning a bitch with Judy Colan, Ch. Sagenhaft Colsidex Whiz Kid, who produced Ch. Colsidex The Farm Top of the Mark (“Cliffy”) who was a top producing dog, and is the sire of “Marge” (Ch. Colsidex Seabreeze Perfect Fit).

I have had the great pleasure over the years to show many top dogs in breeds that range from Weimaraners to Whippets and Vizslas to Irish Setters and many breeds in between.

Rissana is now nestled in idyllic Woodstock, CT in a home registered with the Historic Society.
